Rare Book collection
About the collection
The core of the Rare Book collection is based on the libraries of Manitoba, Wesley, and United Colleges, respectively, which in turn were first built around books brought to those institutions by their first professors arriving from Great Britain or Upper Canada. These volumes are primarily theological and classical texts, much of them in Latin or Greek.
The more recently acquired books in the collection include local and Canadian histories, genealogy, local authors, University of Winnipeg-related content, and a variety of other material.
